Wairua Hydro Electric Power Station Consent Renewal Application

Project - Nortpower has recently obtained new resource consents for the continued operation of the 5MW Hydro Electric Power Station (HEPS) located in the Wairua River in Titoki. The HEPS is one of the oldest continuously operating power stations in New Zealand and is one of Northpower's oldest physical assets. Securing the new consents enables Northpower to undertake critical repair and maintenance works needed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the scheme.

Our Work - Reyburn and Bryant planners prepared the resource consent application, coordinated the various technical assessments in conjunction with Legal Counsel, and managed the resource consent process through to the granting of the new consents. The new consents contribute to a more resilient and sustainable supply of renewable energy in the Northland Region.
